Before Copelands began, I had never met George. He is a 97-year-old man living on his own and a year ago, his wife went into care because of Alzheimers. This left George lonely and dependent on others, he is even reliant on others to take him to visit his wife Elizabeth once a week. To keep himself busy, George has chosen to make his hobby of clock making a daily routine, making every component by hand himself.

Over the year I have been photographing George, I have developed a strong friendship with him, kept him company and watch him regain confidence following his wife going into care.
